Stephanie Pitton

Hi, I’m Steph, a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Registered Kinesiologist with a passion for helping women navigate cancer and other chronic illnesses through personalized, evidence-based exercise.

Originally from Sault Ste. Marie, I completed my BSc in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo (‘09). Since then, I have had the privilege of working at UW’s Centre for Community, Clinical and Applied Research Excellence (CCCARE), formerly UW Fitness. Over the past 15 years, I’ve supported participants through exercise programs for for cancer (UW WELL-FIT), stroke (STEPS) and cognitive impairment (Brain & Body).

R.KIN, CSEP-CEP, Cancer Exercise Trainer, Founder of Empower Exercise & Health

I’ve seen firsthand how powerful and life-changing exercise can be — especially in the face of a difficult diagnosis. Over the years, I’ve come to believe that what makes exercise truly transformative isn’t just the movement and exercise itself, but the way it is delivered, with genuine care, compassion and connection.

This belief has led me to create Empower: Exercise & Health — a space where women can access safe, supportive exercise that is informed with science and delivered with heart. My mission is to expand access to this kind of information and care for women who need it the most, no matter where they live.

Through Empower, I offer online group fitness that build camaraderie, personalized coaching plans that provide structure and support and educational content and resources that help women feel confidence in their bodies. It’s more than fitness and exercise, it’s about being EMPOWERED in the ways that matter most.
